To deactivate a PS5 or PS4 as your primary console, follow these steps based on official PlayStation guidelines. Deactivating a primary console allows you to set another console as primary or manage account sharing. You can do this directly on the console or via a web browser if you no longer have access to the device.

Deactivate PS5 as Primary
On the PS5:
Go to Settings - Users and Accounts - Other.
Select Console Sharing and Offline Play.
Choose Disable to deactivate Console Sharing and Offline Play (this removes the PS5 as your primary console).
Confirm the action. Note: You can only activate one PS5 as primary per account.

Via Web Browser (if you can’t access the PS5):
Visit the PlayStation website (account management section:
Sign in with your PlayStation Network (PSN) account.

Go to Device Management - PlayStation Consoles.
Select the PS5 listed and choose Deactivate All Devices. Note: This option deactivates all devices linked to your account and can only be done once every six months. Use it only if you can’t access the console directly.
