How to Change Email on Xbox Account (Easy Guide)
9To change the email on your Xbox account, update the email linked to your Microsoft account, since Xbox uses the same credentials. Here's how:
Sign In to Your Microsoft Account:
Go to the Microsoft account website on a web browser from your PC, mobile device, or Xbox console.
Sign in with your current Xbox account email and password.
Navigate to Account Info:
Click your profile icon in the top-right corner and select My Microsoft Account.
Go to Your info at the top of the page.
Manage Sign-In Preferences:
Click Manage how you sign in to Microsoft.
Verify your identity with a code sent to your current email or phone number if prompted.
Add a New Email:
Select Add email or Add alias.
Enter the new email address you want to use and click Add alias.
Check the new email’s inbox for a verification link from Microsoft and click it to verify.
Set the New Email as Primary:
On the Manage how you sign in page, find the new email and click Make primary to set it as the default for your Microsoft and Xbox account.
(Optional) Remove the Old Email:
If you don’t want the old email linked, click Remove next to it.
Note: If the old email ends in @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, or @live.com, removing it deletes it permanently from Microsoft’s systems, and it can’t be reused.
Sign In on Xbox:
On your Xbox console, sign out and sign back in using the new email address. Your Xbox profile, games, and progress will stay intact.
