How to Delete ALL your Photos & Videos off Android Phone & Send to Trash (Best Method)
The best and fastest method to delete all photos and videos from your Android phone's local storage and move them to the trash is by using the Google Photos app's multi-select features.
Here is the most efficient method for mass deletion and a necessary step to ensure the deleted items are in the trash and not immediately removed permanently.
Best Method: Mass Delete All Media
The quickest way to select all media is by using the continuous selection gesture.
1. Select All Photos and Videos
Open the Google Photos app on your Android phone.
Tap on the "Photos" tab at the bottom to view your full media timeline.
Tap and hold the very first photo/video in the top left corner of the grid. A checkmark will appear.
While still holding your finger down, drag your finger across and down the screen. Continue dragging down until the app starts scrolling automatically and selecting all the media items. This can select thousands of files quickly.
Once you have selected everything you want to delete (or the app has reached the end of your library), lift your finger.
2. Move to Trash
After selection, tap the Trash icon (bin icon) which will appear at the top or bottom of the screen.
A pop-up will appear, typically asking you to confirm the deletion. It will state that the items will be moved to the Trash for 30–60 days.
Tap "Move to trash" to confirm.
All selected photos and videos are now deleted from your phone's current view and sent to the Trash folder.
