First things first, you will need to download the Forge Installer for 1.21.3. There is a link above to download Forge. That will take you to our in-depth text guide on getting Forge. On this page, click “Download Forge”, and you will go to Forge’s official download page.
On the Forge download page, select 1.21 and 1.21.3 on the left-hand side. Then, click on “Installer” under download latest. That will take you to a page where you need to wait about 10 seconds. After about 10 seconds, a “Skip” button will appear in the top right. Click that, and Forge 1.21.3 will begin downloading.
Now, how do you install Forge for Minecraft 1.21.3? Well, open up the Forge installer you downloaded with Java. If you don’t have Java, there is a guide get getting Java 21 for Forge in the description above.
In the Forge Installer, click on “Install Client” and click “Okay”. Forge 1.21.3 will begin installing. The only reason you would have issues here is if Minecraft or the Minecraft Launcher are open. Make sure both of those are closed or if you have never played Minecraft 1.21.3 before, make sure to play it before installing Forge as you need those files downloaded for things to work.
Once Forge is finished installing, we can move on to playing Minecraft with Forge. To do this, open the Minecraft Launcher, and navigate to the “Installations” tab. There, you will see a “Forge 1.21.3” installation. Play Minecraft using that, and Forge will open.
After you have Minecraft open with Forge, you can install mods. To download Forge mods, you will need to make sure they are for the 1.21.3 Forge mod loader. NeoForge and Fabric mods will work.
Generally, you will download Forge mods from CurseForge or Modrinth. These are trusted places to download mods, and you can filter for the Forge mod loader and 1.21.3. Once you have your mods downloaded, installing them is very easy.
Open up Minecraft using Forge. Then, click on the “Mods” button on the main menu. From there, click on “Mods Folder” in the bottom left. This is where you will install the Forge 1.21.3 mods you want to install. Just drag-and-drop any Forge mods you want into the mods folder.
