What is Iris Shaders for 1.20.2? Well it is a Minecraft shaders mod that lets you get shaders without Optifine 1.20.2. That means that you can get shaders even if Optifine isn’t updated yet. Better yet pretty much every Minecraft 1.20.2 shader packs works with Iris Shaders right away. So, without anymore delay, here is how to download and install Iris Shaders in Minecraft 1.20.2!
First things first, we will need to go over how to download shaders for Minecraft 1.20.2. Specifically, we will need to get a shader pack. Shader packs are what actually adds shading into Minecraft. There are tons of different shaders out there, but in the description above, we have a list of our favorite Minecraft 1.20.2 shader packs for you to check out.
When downloading a shader pack, it may not be updated to 1.20.2. Generally, that’s okay especially if it lists as being compatible for Iris Shaders. If a shader pack doesn’t work, you can always just remove it.
Now, we can move on to how to download Iris Shaders 1.20.2. You can find a link in the description above that will take you to our text tutorial for getting Iris Shaders. On this page, click the “Download Iris” button, and the Iris installed will start downloading.
After you have the Iris Installer, we can move on to install it. To do this, right-click the Iris Installer, select “Open With”, “Java”, and click Okay. The Iris Installer will open.
In the Iris Installer, select the 1.20.2 version, and click “Install”. Iris will the nearly instantly install in Minecraft 1.20.2!
To play Minecraft with Iris Shaders, open up the Minecraft Launcher, select the Iris Shaders + Sodium profile in the launcher next to the Play button. Click play, and Minecraft will open.
We aren’t done yet though. We still need to go over how to install shaders in Minecraft 1.20.2. Once Minecraft is open with Iris, click on “Options”, Video Settings”, and then “Shaders” towards the top right of the screen. This is the Shaders menu. Here, you can manage your shader packs.
To install shader packs on 1.20.2, click the “Open Shaders Folder” button. Then, drag-and-drop and shader packs you want to install into this shaderspacks folder.
When you go back into Minecraft, you will see your shaderpacks in the shaders menu. Click on them, and click “Apply” to activate the shader pack. You can then click “Shader Settings” to customize and change a shader pack after it is install.
