About this video: This video is the complete guide on how to download and install mods in Minecraft 1.20.2 for PC. This tutorial goes in-depth showing you how everything that you need to know about how to get mods in Minecraft 1.20.2. From downloading mods to installing them, it’s all covered!
The very first step is to download Forge 1.20.2, Forge is the mod loader that will allow you to use Minecraft 1.20.2 mods. You can find a link to download Forge for 1.20.2 Minecraft mods in the description above. That will take you to our complete text guide on getting Forge. On that guide, click the “Download Forge” button to be taken to the official Forge download page.
Once you are there, look for the "1.20.2" version on the left-hand side, and click on “Installer” under download recommended to start downloading it. You may need to keep or save Forge depending on your browser.
Next, locate the Forge Installer you just downloaded and right-click on it. Select “Open With”, “Java” and click okay. A window will pop up; select "Install Client" and click "OK." Allow the installer get Forge 1.20.2 up and running; it will automatically add Forge into your Minecraft Launcher.
Now, we can move on to how to download mods for Minecraft 1.20.2. In this video, we'll be getting three mods: JourneyMap, Biomes O' Plenty, and TerraBlender. You can find links to all of them and where you can download more Minecraft mods for 1.20.2 in the description above.
Make sure that any mods you download are for Forge and the Minecraft 1.20.2 version. Some mods may also have dependencies or other "library" mods. These are typically listed in the mods description.
Before installing the mods, start Minecraft using the newly created Forge 1.20.2 installation in the Minecraft Launcher.
From the Minecraft main menu, click on the “Mods” button. The, click the 'Open Mods Folder' button. This will open up your mods folder. Now, all you need to do to install Minecraft mods in 1.20.2 is drag the Minecraft mods you downloaded into this folder.
At this point though, you won’t be be able to use your 1.20.2 mods in Minecraft. To actually use your Minecraft mods, restart Minecraft. Make sure to open it up with your Forge installation.
After Minecraft has restarted, you will be able to see all of your 1.20.2 Minecraft mods in the “Mods” menu. You can also use all your mods in game!
