Dropping items in Rust can be done in a couple of ways. Here are two methods:

Method 1: Drag and Drop
Open your inventory by pressing the Tab key.
Click and drag the item you want to drop outside the inventory window.
Release the mouse button to drop the item on the ground.

Method 2: Quick Drop
Open your inventory by pressing the Tab key.
Right-click on the item you want to drop. This will instantly drop the item on the ground.
