To add friends in Destiny 2, follow these steps:

Open the Roster menu.
Search for your friend’s Bungie Name using the player search feature.
Enter their name and the hashtag/pound symbol (#), followed by the four numbers that follow their screen name.
Send them a friend request.

Once your Bungie Friends list is populated, you can invite them to play crossplay by interacting with them through the Roster tab. Simply select the player you want to invite, choose details, and then select the Invite option
