How to enable 3rd person view in AvP2 and bird's eye view

I show you how to enable third person perspective view or chase view in AvP2. I also demonstrate how to get a bird's eye view by changing the zoom range for chase view.


No third party software, mods, or downloads necessary.


Step 1.
In your game's directory (where you have the game installed), open autoexec.cfg with a text editor like notepad.

MAKE A BACKUP OF autoexec.cfg IN CASE YOU MESS SOMETHING UP.



Steps 2.
Copy and paste the following text line in the 'rangebind' section of the config file after "QuickLoad" and "QuickSave" as seen in the video


rangebind "##keyboard" "y" 0.000000 0.000000 "ChaseView"



For example

rangebind "##keyboard" "##65" 0.000000 0.000000 "QuickLoad"
rangebind "##keyboard" "##64" 0.000000 0.000000 "QuickSave"

rangebind "##keyboard" "y" 0.000000 0.000000 "ChaseView"

Note, "y" is the key that is assigned ChaseView or 3rd-person view. You may change this to any other key that you prefer.


Step 3.
Save your changes to the config file and run the game.


Step 4. (Optional) Bird's eye view
As seen in the video, open autoexec.cfg again and copy and paste the following text line right before the "AddAction" entries start



"3rdpersondist" "900"


Save your changes, close the file, and launch the game.

You may replace 900 with whatever zoom value you'd prefer. It's measured in game units. The default value is 150.
