How to Enable a Main Monitor when Connected to Steam Deck (Easy Method)
5To enable a main monitor when connected to your Steam Deck, follow these steps:
Connect Your Monitor:
Use a USB-C to HDMI adapter or a docking station to connect your monitor to the Steam Deck.
Switch to Desktop Mode:
Hold the Power button and select Switch to Desktop.
Open Display Settings:
Click on the KDE icon (bottom-left corner) and go to System Settings.
Navigate to Display and Monitor.
Configure Display Settings:
In the Display settings, you should see both your Steam Deck screen and the connected monitor.
Select the monitor you want to use as the main display.
Check the box or option to set it as the primary display.
You can also disable the Steam Deck’s built-in display if you want to use only the external monitor.
Apply Changes:
Click Apply to save the changes.
Return to Gaming Mode:
Once the settings are applied, you can switch back to Gaming Mode by clicking the Steam icon and selecting Return to Gaming Mode.
