How to Episode Hersey (Week 1) Tome of Want | Echoed Warnings | Taken Altar | Mysterium + Runes
38Week 1 of Episode Hersey. Here is the rundown.
This is very early information, and things can change in the future.
Logging in this Episode. You will be put into the Episode Intro Quest.
If you don't own the season pass. You get the artifact and finish at step 5.
At Step 7, you can head into Matchmade Nether and complete a whole run.
Step 8. Head to the Dreaming City at The Spine of Keres. Talk to Sloane and finish the quest.
Step 10 wants you to get the Tome of Want. This is unlocked at the Episode Vendor Rank 3. Most likely you will need to run another Nether to get to Rep 3.
Step 11 is timegated until Week 2. The change was made in this Episode. The Act 1 Content still dropped on Day 1 but the story is Weekly.
The Tome of Want is the gameplay loop of the Episode. It is similar to Tonics but better. You can focus weapons and armour with Rare Scriptures or focus specifically on the epic Scriptures.
It will cost Essense of Desire to activate. 2 for Blue and 5 for Epic. You will gain 3 charges for that one Scripture. To charge it up:
Finishing Encounters in the Nether
High Ranked Enemies in the Nether
Guardian Kills for PvP
Once at 100%, it will use up 1 charge. Gives the drop and you can charge it up again. You can cancel at any time to change it.
Activating the Tome of Want will activate the Artifact Boosts. It seems to unlock more from the Vendor Rep. They're all active.
The Tome of Want comes with a tutorial quest. I've read it might be bugged but I had no Problems.
Steps:
Equip a Rare Scripture and use up 3 Charges
Equip an Epic Scripture and use up 3 Charges
Equip an Exotic Scripture and use up 1 Charge
The last step is to do it 15 times. The tutorials gets you to 7/15. Doing the Rares would be the cheapest.
The Essence of Desire mostly drops from finishing bosses in the Nether. You can only Hold 50.
Metastasized Essentia is the destination material in the Dreadnought. When picking them up during the nether. They're not completely in your inventory until you finish the run. If you wipe. You will lose most. Use Wombo Detector Mod.
Metastasized Essentia can be offered at the Taken Alter found in Eris's Apartment. You can send 10 Metastasized Essentia for rewards. You will get 10 Essence of Desire, some gear and 200 Rep for the Slab.
Sigil Shards are the main currency. It drops from many sources. Mostly from upgrades to unlock them.
Prosperity Rune
Killing enemies in the Nether can drop taken blights to break open.
Nether Chests
Essence of Desire Chests
Sigil Shards can be used to buy Runes in the Runic Enchancement at the Episode Vendor. These runes are permanent buffs for runs in the Nether. Your Nether Enhancement Level is increased based on your Vendor Rep Level. 6 = 3. Each rune has its own level. So if you're level 3. You can equip 3 level 1 runes or 1 level 2 and 1 level 1.
You can change Runes at the vendor or at the start of the Nether. You can only hold 300 Sigil Shards, so spend them whenever. Sigil Shards can also buy Epic Scriptures.
The Mysterium shows your Scrolls of the Nether. These scrolls are earned from a chance to drop when picking up a Minor Boon. When owning a scroll. You will always get +2 of the Minor Boon.
The Scrolls of Strength is a stacking Boost.
Dispelled Corruption increases on found Taken Worms in the Nether. 10% per.
Ritual Potency increases your charges for your Tome of Want. Each Pinnacle Secret found in the Nether is +1? I'll find out more about this soon.
Ghost mods can drop from Chests in the Nether. These mods are used to focus certain Minor Boons to drop from Nether Runs. This is basically to lessen the RNG.
