In this video, I’ll show you how to speed up the loading of Windows icons by increasing the icon cache size. This method can improve your system’s performance and reduce delays when loading icons on your PC.
Windows stores icons for files and programs in a cache to display them quickly. If icons load slowly, especially when opening folders or after starting your PC, increasing the cache size might help. You can do this by modifying the Registry.
If icons are missing or showing incorrectly, try rebuilding the icon or thumbnail cache first (depending on your version of Windows). If that doesn’t fix the issue, follow these steps to increase the cache size. This process works on Windows 7, 8, 10, and 11.
This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7 operating systems.Works for all major computer manufactures (Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, Samsung).
