2If your Steam Deck has a frozen screen or unresponsive controls, here are some steps you can try to fix the issue:
Restart Your Steam Deck:
Press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds to force a restart.
Check for System Updates:
Go to Steam - Settings - System - Software Updates and install any available updates.
Force Restart:
If the device is still unresponsive, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds again.
Check for Debris:
Ensure there is no debris or dirt obstructing the buttons. Clean around the buttons with isopropyl alcohol and a dry microfiber cloth1.
Test Controller Inputs:
Navigate to Settings - Controller - Test Controller Inputs to check if the buttons are functioning properly.
Boot into BIOS Mode:
Turn off the Steam Deck, hold down the Volume+ button, then press the Power button to boot into BIOS mode. Use the D-Pad to navigate to “Setup Utility” and press A to confirm
