How to Flash a Custom BIOS on a 1.6 OG Xbox with XycloMod - No Modchip Required!
577Over 20 years after the 1.6 model of the original Xbox released, Prehistoricman has come through with a legendary new development! This is XycloMod, a set of scripts which allow you to reflash the on-board BIOS on a 1.6 original Xbox with a custom BIOS, something which was thought to be impossible without a TSOP. No softmod or modchip required for this, but soldering skills are still required to wire up a USB to TTL adapter in order to reflash the console via a leftover UART interface.
This video covers how to take apart the Xbox, check your internal Xyclops chip to verify compatibility, install your required wires, and finally installing a custom BIOS directly on the console.
