If an application on your Windows 10 or 11 PC becomes unresponsive, you can force close it using one of the following methods:
Method 1: Use Task Manager
Open Task Manager:
Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager directly.
Alternatively, press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and select Task Manager.
Locate the Unresponsive Application:
In the Processes tab, look for the application that’s not responding.
End Task:
Select the application and click End task at the bottom-right corner of the Task Manager window.
Confirm if prompted.
Method 2: Use Keyboard Shortcuts
Close the Application Window:
Press Alt + F4 while the application window is active. This often closes the application immediately.
