2To fully quit games and close apps on an Xbox One, you can follow these steps:
Return to the Home Screen:
Press the Xbox button on your controller to bring up the Xbox Guide.
Highlight the Game or App:
Navigate to the game or app you want to close using the D-pad or thumbstick.
Options Button:
While the game or app is highlighted, press the "Options" button (it's the button with three horizontal lines) on your controller. It's located just to the right of the Xbox button.
Quit or Close:
In the context menu that appears, select "Quit" or "Close," depending on the game or app you're using. Some apps might have different wording, but the action will be to exit or close the app.
Confirm:
A confirmation dialog will usually pop up asking if you want to quit the game or app. Confirm your choice.
Return to Home:
Once you've quit the game or closed the app, you will return to the Xbox One Home screen.
