Not only does JourneyMap have a minimap though it also has a really cool world map that will allow you to easily see your entire world. Lastly, JourneyMap adds the ability to get waypoints in Minecraft 1.18.2, so you will easily be able to get back to areas you’ve been before. Thus, without anymore delay, here is how to download and install the Minecraft map mod for 1.18.2!
First things first, you will need to download and install Forge 1.18.2. Forge is the mod loader that allows the Minecraft minimap to work with Minecraft. You can find our complete guide on how to get Forge 1.18.2 in the description above. We even show you how to fix some of the issues when getting Forge for Minecraft JourneyMap 1.18.2 in that tutorial.
After you have Forge, we can move on to how to download the Minecraft minimap mod in 1.18.2. You can find the JourneyMap download link in the description above. That will actually take you to our text tutorial for installing JourneyMap 1.18.2. Once you are there, scroll down and click the yellow ‘Download Journey Map’ button. This will take you to the official Minecraft JourneMap minimap download page. On this page, look at the right-hand sidebar and scroll down to the ‘Minecraft 1.18’ section. Under this, you will have a 1.18.2 JourneyMap download. Click the orange download button next to this version, and JourneyMap 1.18.2 will start downloading. You may need to keep or save this file depending on your browser.
With the Minecraft Map Mod downloaded for 1.18.2, we can move to to how to install it. To do this, open up the Minecraft Launcher, select the ‘Forge 1.18.2’ installation, and click play. Confirm you are playing modded Minecraft by clicking Play again, and Minecraft 1.18.2 will open up with Forge. On the Minecraft main menu, select ‘Mods’ and the ‘Open Mods Folder’ in the bottom left. This will open your Mods folder. Finally to install JourneyMap in Minecraft 1.18.2, drag-and-drop the JourneyMap file you downloaded into this mods folder. You have now learned how to install minimap mod in Minecraft 1.18.2!
You aren’t completely finished though. You see you need to restart Minecraft making sure that you open it up with your Forge installation in order for it to work. When you do, Minecraft will open up with JourneyMap 1.18.2 installed.
