About this video: This video will show you how to make a modded Minecraft server in 1.18.2. Why would you want to make a Forge server in Minecraft 1.18.2? Well, Forge modded Minecraft servers allow you to play Minecraft mods easily with your friends. In this video, we show you how to make a Forge 1.18.2. server. Forge is the most popular Minecraft mod loader, so let’s jump right on into how to host a modded Minecraft server in 1.18.2!
First things first, we will need to download Forge. You can find a link in the description above to download Forge 1.18.2. On that page, click the green download Forge button to go to the Forge download page. On this page, make sure 1.18.2 is selected, and click the ‘Installer’ button. Then, click the ‘skip’ button in the top right on the next page. Forge 1.18.2 will download.
Next, create a ‘Minecraft Forge Server 1.18.2’ folder on your desktop. Then, right-click on the Forge installer you download, click open with, select Java, and click okay. The Forge installer will open up. Finally, click ‘Install Server’. Then, click the three dots and navigate in the file window to the Folder on your desktop. Select it, and click ‘Okay’. The Forge 1.18.2 server files will then start installing.
With the server files installed, open the folder. You will have a ‘run.bat’ file. Double click the, and the server will try to start a fail. You will now have an EULA.txt file though. Open that, and change ‘EULA=false’ to ‘EULA=true’. Then, double click the run.bat file again.
Your modded Minecraft server will then start up! It is that easy to make a Forge server in Minecraft 1.18.2.
Now, at this point, your friends cannot join your Minecraft modded server. For that, you will need to port forward the port 25565 on the TCP and UDP protocol. We shshow you how to do this in-depth in the video.
