How to Get All of the Medals - Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy 100% Walkthrough
17Throughout Abydos are 4 minigames that you can play. Upon completing them for the first time you'll be rewarded with a medal for that minigame. After you get all 4 medals you can trade them for a Goofy Lizard.
Corridor of Champions (0:00): The Corridor of Champions is found very close to the ladder that leads up from the sewer. Before being allowed to play the game you have to pass the Gauntlet Man's test. After getting the Wings of Ibis pass his test by jumping over the fence, grabbing the diamond, & talking to him again all within 20 seconds. After passing the test you'll be allowed to challenge the gauntlets for 10 Scarabs a try. Complete all 3 Gauntlets to get the Medal of Champions.
Gauntlet #1 (0:51): The 1st gauntlet is pretty easy. Break all 4 statues then reach the end in less than 100 seconds. The statues are all found in alcoves in the walls as you run toward the end. In the 1st gauntlet all of the alcoves can be reached from the ground floor. Jump through the moving obstacles when they get in your way.
Gauntlet #2 (2:22): Mostly the same as last time except there are some new obstacles & the 1st & 2nd statues are on the 3rd & 2nd levels respectively. Climb up the obstacles that have stairs to reach the upper levels. Only the 1 obstacle is tall enough to reach the 1st statue. You have 200 seconds to beat this gauntlet.
Gauntlet #3 (5:05): The alcoves are in the same positions as last time, but the obstacles are considerably more difficult to get passed. Remember that only 1 of the obstacles is tall enough to reach the 1st statue. I recommend jumping, instead of running through the obstacles when you're moving in the direction of the exit. This is because the obstacles move faster then you can run so jumping & letting the obstacles move underneath you is better. You have 300 seconds to beat this gauntlet.
Paneb's Pair Matching Place (5:58): Near the Poor Bird is Paneb's minigame. The objective is to use the blowpipe to shoot the doors & to find a matching pair of "items". If you successfully match all pairs within 60 seconds you'll be rewarded with the Medal of Memory. The location of each item is different upon every play so where they are in the video is not where they will be for you.
Sorkon's Sequence Shack (10:40): Down a ways from the Poor Bird & in front of the bridge on the right is Sorkon's Simon Says-like minigame. You'll have 3 levels of increasing difficulty to beat & upon completing all of them you'll be rewarded with the Medal of Sequence.
Beginner (11:07): For the cost of 5 Scarabs the beginner sequence is: RBG, YBR, BGB, YGB.
Intermediate (11:49): For 10 Scarabs the intermediate sequence is: BRBY, GBRG, YGBR, RBGY.
Expert (12:34): For 20 Scarabs the Expert sequence is RYGBG, YBRGB, BGBYR, GBYRB.
Tefnut's Target Tavern (11:36): On the upper level of Abydos Canal (& right next to the Goofy Lizard guy) is Tefnut's minigame. Once again you'll use your blowpipe, but this time you're shooting at targets trying to rack up points. You have 30 seconds to get at least 40 points. You are not punished for missing, only for shooting the skulls. The Christmas Tree target is worth the most points at 5. This minigame costs 10 Scarabs. Upon successfully getting at least 40 points you'll be rewarded with the Marksman Medal.
