How To Get Lu Bu To Join Your Faction | Tutorial And Guide Total War Three Kingdoms | Campaign Mode
Picture this: So you just started playing Total War Three Kingdoms TW3K and you're looking to play as Dong Zhuo. Well, why else would you play as Dong Zhuo other than being able to have Lu Bu in your army / faction? At least for me, that's exactly the full reason why I wanted to play Dong Zhuo in the first place. Have no fear, this tutorial will show you exactly how to RECRUIT and KEEP Lu Bu in your army/faction.
You can literally get Lu Bu in your faction starting turn 2 if you are playing as either Ma Teng or Liu Biao. These warlords are both governors who, at the start of the game, have good diplomatic relations with Dong Zhuo. This is absolutely necessary.
Detailed steps / guide / tutorial on how to recruit and keep Lu Bu
Turn 1: Don't spend any money
Turn 2: Divorce your wife. Go to the diplomacy screen. Negotiate with Dong Zhuo to receive marriage. Note -- receive, not offer. If you offer, your character will instead go to their faction. Receive to marry someone to Lu Bu. Trade an ancillary, trade agreement, money, food, whatever you want to make this deal work.
Now Lu Bu is in your faction. His satisfaction is basically at 0 at this point. You are NOT done yet. You have to go to your family tree and declare him as heir. You cannot declare him as heir in turn one, hence why we do this step in turn 2. Okay, so now Lu Bu is in your faction BUT it costs a ton of money to raise him and his army. You have two options here. Option 1 is to build a strong economy and wait to raise him. Option 2 is have a cheap general rush into battle (you have to control this battle and kill him off). You will then have an option to raise Lu Bu for 0 coin, though with a weaker retinue. I hope this tutorial helped. Let me know if you have any other questions.
