About this video: This video is our step-by-step guide on how to join your friend's single player world in Minecraft 1.14.4. From setting up a LAN server, which allows anyone on the same internet connection as you to play on your single player world to how to add a single player world to a Minecraft server in order to play with your friends, we cover it all in this video and go over every single step of the process. Thus, let's go ahead and learn exactly how to let a friend join your single-player Minecraft world.
First and foremost, we are going to be going over joining your friend's single-player Minecraft world using LAN. This is by far the easiest way, but it requires that your friend and you be on the same connection to work. This means you will need to be at their house on their wifi/internet in order for this to work. If that's the case, it's super easy. First, have your friend open up the single play Minecraft world on their computer.
Once they have loaded into their single-player world, setting up a LAN server in #Minecraft is super easy. Just hit escape. You'll then see an 'Open to LAN' button. Click that button, and then select what game mode you want the server to be and whether or not to allow cheats (like changing game modes). Then, click the 'Start LAN World' button. Now, all your friend has to do to join the server is go to the 'Multiplayer' tab on their Minecraft/computer. Your #LAN world will automatically show up there, and they can join right on in by double-clicking on it. Again, this only works if they are on the exact same internet connection as you in the same location.
What if your friend isn't in the same location though? What do you do then? Well, in that case, you will need to start a Minecraft server and add your single player world to that. Luckily, we have helped millions of people start Minecraft servers, and you can find our in-depth tutorial linked in the description above.
Once your server is set up, adding a single player world to it is very easy. All you have to do is open up the 'Run' app by searching for it in the start menu. In it, type '%appdata%' and hit enter. This will open up your roaming folder where you will see a '.minecraft' folder. In this folder, you'll see a 'saves' folder. Open that folder, and you should see the single-player world you want to add to your server.
Next, open the 'world' folder on your server. Delete everything in this folder, and copy over everything from the #SinglePlayer world you found in your saves folder into it. Now, start up your server and join right on it. You'll notice you have everything even your inventory from single player. Now though you can invite your friends even if they aren't on your internet connection to join using the methods in the how to start a server video!
And there you have it! You now know how to join your friends single player world in Minecraft 1.14.4.
