How to Lock Apps on your iPhone (Easy Tutorial)
You can lock apps on your iPhone using the Shortcuts app with Automation. Here’s how you can create an automation to lock apps:
Steps to Lock Apps with Automation:
Open the Shortcuts app: Go to the Shortcuts app on your iPhone (if you don’t have it installed, download it from the App Store).
Create a New Automation:
Tap the Automation tab at the bottom.
Select Create Personal Automation.
Scroll down and tap App.
Choose the App to Lock:
In the automation, tap Choose, then select the app or apps you want to lock.
Tap Next after selecting.
Add an Action:
Now, add an action to automatically lock your phone when the app is opened. Tap Add Action, then search for Lock Screen and select it.
This action will automatically lock your iPhone when you open the selected app.
Disable Ask Before Running:
On the next screen, toggle off Ask Before Running to make sure the automation runs without asking for confirmation.
Confirm by tapping Don’t Ask.
Test the Automation:
Open the app you selected to see if the automation works. When you try to open the app, your phone will lock, requiring Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode to unlock it.
How It Works:
This method doesn’t lock the app directly, but it locks your phone as soon as you open the app, essentially restricting access. If you want to access the app, you’ll have to unlock the phone again.
