How To Make a Good Drunk Video Game
Video games are one of the best ways to pass the time I can think of. But when you find yourself under the influence and without many ways to occupy your brain, they can be even better. But games like Metal Gear Solid, Persona 5, Ni No Kuni, and other narrative-rich, cutscene-heavy experiences just won't be as enjoyable with a few shots of vodka in your system, at least not as enjoyable as they would be while sober. On the other hand, games that might not have your full attention without booze like Madden or a standard cover-based shooter, can be amplified when you play them while drunk. But why is that? Why are some games more enjoyable while drunk, and what separates a good drunk video game like Grand Theft Auto V and Ratchet and Clank from a sober one?
I'm glad you asked.
