This video will show you how to monitor and set proper audio recording volume levels on your Windows-based PC through the use of volume unit (VU) metering available through the following free softwares: MP3DirectCut and the Lame MP3 Encoder. By doing so, you can ensure that your voice recordings will be loud enough to be heard on your recordings or by the other call party, all while not being too loud to create peaking, popping, distorted audio that constantly drops out due to overmodulation.
