This video will show you how to successfully trigger OverDrive (Star Power) when playing drums (including the Pro-Cymbal Expansion Set) when playing songs either imported from or DLC created for Rock Band 2 on a Rock Band 3 game that has the free-form drum fill lane sections DISABLED (through the EXTRAS - MODIFIERS options sub-menu).

Essentially, songs imported from or intended to be played in RockBand 2 are not calibrated the same as songs intended to be played on RockBand 3, and as a result, the timing of hitting the green crash cymbal to unleash OverDrive (Star Power) is slightly different. The easiest way around this is to hit the green crash cymbal in order to trigger OverDrive (Star Power) WITHOUT accompanying the green crash cymbal hit with a simultaneous press on the bass drum kick pedal (I know that it is a hard habit to break, but doing so ensures that your green crash cymbal hit will almost always unleash OverDrive (Star Power) successfully and without issue.
