How To Play The USS Chester In World Of Warships
So many firsts in real life, but does the ship live up to expectations in game? Well lets examine that list of firsts first:
--First US Navy Scout Cruiser
--First US Navy Combat Vessel to utilize Parsons type steam turbines.
--First US Navy Combat Vessel to launch an aircraft (USS Birmingham)
--First US Navy Combat Vessel to launch a "heavier than air" aircraft for combat purposes (USS Birmingham, launched a sea plane to scout for mines)
--First US Navy Light Cruisers after renaming convention (Hull Numbers CL1-CL3)
--These were also the last cruiser type vessel to be built until 1917 saw the Omaha Class cruisers begin construction! SAY WHAT?!
The short answer is, that I find this ship disappointing for much the same reasons the Erie is kind of a let down. She really has nothing good about her. Her range is low, the ROF slow, the total number of guns available per side is low and she feels soft (might have something to do with her missing her real belt armor, but that's neither here nor there right?). Does she do anything good? She gets through the T2 grind fast! :D
She does have a great history and I can't complain too much about that!
