79How to put Chromebook in beta mode? In this tutorial, I show you how to put your Chromebook in the beta channel of Chrome OS. Note: installing Beta Mode on your Chromebook will DELETE everything on it. Make sure you back up all files saved on your Chromebook before turning on Beta Mode, or you will lose them.
Follow the steps below to put Chromebook in Beta mode:
1. Turn on your Chromebook and login.
2. Select the clock in the bottom right and then in the menu select the gear for settings.
3. In the settings, select About Chrome OS.
4. Select Additional Details, then Change Channel.
5. Select Beta and then select Change Channel and Powerwash.
6. Your Chromebook will now download the beta version of Chrome OS. When it is done downloading you will be prompted to restart and powerwash your Chromebook.
7. Once your Chromebook reboots login and go through the setup process. 8. Your Chromebook is now in the Beta channel.
