Have you ever needed to update your payment information or remove an old credit or debit card from your Amazon account? Whether you're managing your budget, replacing an expired card, or simply tidying up your Amazon account, keeping your payment methods current is essential for a smooth shopping experience.
Now let's walk through the process of removing a credit or debit card from your Amazon account using the Amazon app. It’s a quick and secure way to ensure your account reflects only your current payment preferences.
Step 1. Open the Amazon app on your iPhone, iPad or Android device. Tap the "Menu" icon in the row of icons along the bottom of the screen. A menu is displayed.
Step 2. Tap "Account" in this menu. Your Amazon account menu is shown.
Step 3. Scroll down to the Payments section, and then tap "Your Payments." An Amazon Pay screen opens with the Wallet options displayed by default.
Step 4. Navigate to the Cards and Accounts section, and then tap the credit or debit card you want to remove from your Amazon account. An information screen opens with options associated with that card.
Step 5. Tap "Edit" located directly above the image of the card on this screen. A screen is displayed where you can edit details associated with this card.
Step 6. Scroll down to the bottom of this screen, and then tap "Remove from Wallet." The next screen will ask if you're sure you want to remove this card from your Amazon wallet.
Step 7. Tap "Remove." You'll see a note letting you know that card has been removed successfully. That credit or debit card will no longer be a payment option when you make purchases on Amazon.
