How to Remove a Payment Method from Walmart
Removing a payment method on the Walmart app is a straightforward process that helps you keep your wallet up to date, especially if you’ve switched cards or no longer want a particular method saved. This includes credit cards, debit cards, gift cards, or PayPal accounts.
To begin, open the Walmart app and sign in with your existing account credentials. Once you're on the home screen, tap on the account icon located in the bottom right corner of the screen. This section houses all the core functions of your account including profile, orders, and settings.
Next, tap the gear icon in the top right corner to enter the settings menu. From there, select the “Wallet” option. This will display all payment methods currently linked to your Walmart account, including default and backup options.
Within the Wallet section, find the specific payment method you want to remove. Tap or long press the card or method in question. Once selected, you’ll be shown options to either edit or remove it. Tap on “Remove” to proceed with deletion. The app may ask you to confirm your choice—simply tap “Yes” or “Confirm” when prompted.
If the card you’re trying to delete is set as your default payment method, make sure to change your default to another saved method before attempting to delete it. Walmart won't allow deletion of a default method without replacing it first.
By removing unused or expired payment methods, you help ensure smoother transactions and better account security.
