In this video, we show you how we RGB Modified the Nintendo Super Famicom Jr of Adam Koralik with Voultar's RGB Mod kit.

I love imported Japanese Nintendo systems. There's just something about them that I think is so dang cool. At a convention last year, Adam Koralik and I got talking about a Super Famicom Jr he was in the process of retro-briting and restoring. I had just RGB Modded my SNES Jr and I offered to mod his system for him using the same techniques.

We had talked about possibly modifying his system at the 2019 MoGamesCon, unfortunately, the parts arrived the day of the show. As such I modded his system after the show at my home, which is what you see in this video here.

The mod is made very easy thanks to Voultar and his RGB Mod Boards. See, the original Super NES and Super Famicom both were capable of outputting RGB right from the box, however, Nintendo removed the RGB output from the systems to reduce cost. Thankfully, Voultar's RGB Board makes restoring RGB output for either RGB SCART or HD Retrovision Component Video Cables a snap.

In addition to adding the RGB Mod kit to the system, I also installed Voultar's 1CHIP Ghosting Fix Capacitor Fix. This simply addresses the video issue some systems that experience a ghosting with some video output. This is an easy and inexpensive upgrade that, if you're under the hood to mod your system anyways, you should really do this at the same time.

Tools and Supplies Used:
Trackpower Soldering Iron https://amzn.to/32kGItO
Keester Solder: https://amzn.to/2MPu1Dt
Wire Stripper: https://amzn.to/34doV9z
No Clean Solder Flux: https://amzn.to/2MQ86w6
Game Bits: https://bit.ly/2NKRUfl

It took me about 20-minutes to disassemble, install, and reassemble everything inside the system. One of the coolest things about this mod is, once completed, you can’t tell that the system has been modded at all. I was able to perform this mod quickly as well, thanks to my previous experience with Voultar’s RGB mod kits. They are really quite amazing and super user-friendly.
