How To See Things From A Different Perspective: Cognitive Change-Psychotherapy Crash Course
Seeing things from a different perspective is the goal of today's lesson. We can't always change our automatic thoughts and we can't always predict how we're going to perceive something. But what we can do is become more aware of our thought patterns and how they impact us.
Once you are able to identify how your mind works and how you are likely to perceive something you can then begin the hard work of balancing or altering your thoughts. You certainly don't want to alter your reality but you do want to balance things out so that you aren't thinking negative at all times.
In this video, I discuss cognitive restructuring (or "cognitive change") and how to start the process.
