How to See Which Wifi Frequency Band your Connected to on PS5 (2.4, 5 or 6Ghz)
The PlayStation 5 doesn't explicitly display the Wi-Fi frequency band (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, or 6 GHz) that you are currently connected to in its network status. However, you can determine which band you're using by checking the settings and network name.
Best Method: Change the Frequency Band Manually
The most effective way to check which band your PS5 is connected to is to manually set it and see if the connection works.
From the PS5 home screen, go to Settings (the gear icon ⚙ ️ ) in the top-right corner.
Select Network.
Go to Settings and then Set Up Internet Connection.
Hover over your connected Wi-Fi network and press the Options button on your controller.
Select Advanced Settings.
Choose Wi-Fi Frequency Bands.
By default, this is set to Automatic. You can change it to 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz. If you have a PS5 Pro and a Wi-Fi 6E compatible router, you may also see a 6 GHz option.
When you switch the setting to a specific frequency band, your PS5 will attempt to connect to that band exclusively. If the connection is successful, you know your console is using that frequency. If the connection fails, it means your router or the signal in your location does not support that frequency.
