How to Select USB Configuration to Auto Transfer Pictures to PC using Android Phone
While most Android phones default to a "Charging only" mode when connected to a PC via USB, you can set a permanent default for file transfers. This is done through the Developer options menu, a hidden menu on all Android devices.
Here's how to set the default USB configuration for transferring pictures to your PC:
Step 1: Enable Developer Options
Go to your phone's Settings.
Scroll down and tap on About phone.
Locate the Build number and tap it seven times in quick succession.
You'll see a message confirming that you are now a developer. You may need to enter your PIN or password.
Step 2: Set the Default USB Configuration
Go back to the main Settings menu.
You'll now see a new option called Developer options at the bottom of the list.
Tap on Developer options.
Scroll down to the Networking section.
Tap on Default USB configuration.
From the list, select PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol). This mode is specifically designed for transferring photos and videos. Alternatively, you can select File Transfer/MTP (Media Transfer Protocol), which works for all file types.
