To set a custom image as your background on Xbox Series X, you can follow the steps below:

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
Select “Profile & system” tab.
Select “Settings”.
Select “General”.
Select “Personalization”.
Select “My color & background”.
Select “Custom image”.
Choose the source of your image. You can either use a USB device or Microsoft Edge app.

If you choose to use a USB device, copy a JPG or PNG file that you want to use to a USB device, and then plug it into your Xbox. Make sure that the USB device is not formatted to be an external device for games storage.
If you choose to use Microsoft Edge app, find your chosen background image online, move the browser cursor over the image, hit the menu button on your Xbox controller, and press ‘Set as background’.
