How to Change Display Settings on Xbox Series X (Hidden Refresh Rate & Resolution)
5Here are the steps to change display settings on your Xbox Series X:
Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
Select Profile & system - Settings.
Under General, select TV & display options.
Choose the display and picture settings appropriate for your TV.
You can adjust the following settings:
Resolution: Your Xbox console supports the following resolutions: 720p, 1080p, 1440p (if your TV supports 1440p), and 4K UHD (if your TV supports 4K).
Refresh rate: If you have an Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One S, or Xbox One X, and your TV supports 120Hz over HDMI, you may see this setting under Display - Resolution. Refresh rate is the number of times per second that a TV or monitor displays an image. Refresh rates are usually measured by hertz (cycles per second). A display that produces an image 60 times per second has a 60Hz refresh rate, which is the default refresh rate for all Xbox consoles. But if your setup meets the requirements above, you can increase your refresh rate to 120Hz for 1080p and 1440p resolutions. Your display must support 120Hz over HDMI. While some monitors support 120Hz over DisplayPort, they may not support it over HDMI. 120Hz is only available for 1080p and 1440p. If you change your resolution to 4K UHD or 720p, the refresh rate will be set to 60Hz by default.
Video modes: This setting allows your Xbox console to render a 50Hz signal if the video source is encoded for 50Hz. This is a standard refresh rate in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and many places in Asia. You can also view your movies in 24Hz refresh rate, which is the natural frame rate for movie viewing. You can also allow auto low-latency mode.
