How to Tag a User in a Nightbot Response (Mention a User)
Nightbot allows you to tag users in a message response. There are two methods that can be used to tag a specific user. The first method is to use the $(user) text. When this text is included in a Nightbot response the message will tag the user that activated the command. This method for tagging Nightbot is useful for ensuring the user that used the command can see the response. The benefit of this is particularly noticeable in busy stream chats where a lot of messages are being sent every minute.
Nightbot also allows you to target a specific user in a response. This is good for if you want to share a response with another viewer in the chat. To include a specific user tag in a Nightbot response you will need to use the text $(targetuser). When activating a Nightbot command that features this text include a space at the end and the username of the person you want to be tagged. Nightbot will then respond with the typical response while tagging the mentioned user in the response.
