When transferring games to your new Xbox Series X, you have a couple of options. Let’s explore them:

External Transfer:
The quickest method is to transfer games using an external hard drive. Here’s how:

Prepare Your External Hard Drive: Make sure you have a USB 3.1+ external hard drive (or better) that you’ve used with your previous Xbox device.
Copy Games: If your games are already installed on the external hard drive, great! If not, copy them over from your previous console via the dashboard.
Connect to Xbox Series X: Plug the external hard drive into your new Xbox Series X or S.

Play Directly: You can now play your downloaded Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Xbox games directly from the external HDD.
Consider Space: Keep in mind that moving games to the internal SSD will take up valuable space, so choose wisely based on game optimization1.
Network Transfer:

While not as immediate, you can transfer games via network transfer. Here’s how:

Enable Network Transfer:
On your Xbox One, go to Settings - System - Backup & Transfer - Allow Network Transfer.
On your Xbox Series X/S, navigate to Settings - System - Backup & Transfer.
Select Consoles:

Choose your Xbox One from the Local Consoles list.
Choose Games:

Select the Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Xbox games you want to transfer over the network to your new console.
Patience Is Key:

Depending on your internet speed, the transfer time may vary.
Alternative: If you lack an external storage drive or can’t set up your Xbox One, you can access your purchase history from the Store and download games directly to your Xbox Series X or S. Just wait for the download to complete before playing
