How to Turn OFF HDCP on PS5 (Fast Tutorial)
the PlayStation 5 (PS5) allows users to disable HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) for gameplay capture and video streaming. HDCP is a content protection protocol that can sometimes interfere with certain capture devices or external displays. Here's how you can disable HDCP on the PS5:
From the Home Screen:
a. Turn on your PS5 and ensure it is on the Home Screen.
b. Go to the "Settings" icon, which looks like a gear cog, and select it.
c. Scroll down to "System" and choose it.
d. Select "HDMI" and choose "Enable HDCP."
e. Disable HDCP by toggling the switch to the off position.
Using Quick Menu:
a. While in a game or on the Home Screen, press and hold the PS button on your controller to bring up the Quick Menu.
b. Scroll down to the "Sound/Devices" tab.
c. Select "Enable HDCP" and toggle it off.
Remember that disabling HDCP may be necessary for some capture cards, external recording devices, and specific display scenarios, but it may also limit certain functionality like streaming certain copyrighted content. Make sure you're aware of the implications of disabling HDCP before doing so. Additionally, there may have been updates or changes to the system software since my last update, so it's a good idea to check the latest PS5 system software documentation for any changes or additional options related to HDCP.
