In this video, I will show you how to power off or power on a DigitalOcean droplet from the control panel (dashboard). A green status circle to the left of your droplets name indicates a turned on droplet, and a gray status circle indicates that your droplet is turned off. When turning off your droplet from the control panel, DigitalOcean first attempts a graceful shutdown. If this fails, DigitalOcean will forcibly shutdown your droplet. A forced shutdown does have the potential to corrupt data. If data integrity is important to you then a shutdown from the command line terminal is highly recommended. Below, I have included a link to a video of mine which shows you how to power off your droplet from the command line.

Steps To Turn Off Or On A DigitalOcean Droplet:
1. Log in to your DigitalOcean account
2. Click on the project that contains the droplet that you would like to turn off or on
3. Click on your droplets name
4. Click on the ON or OFF toggle at the top right. If you are turning off your droplet for the first time, you may be greeted with a window that says "Turn off Droplet". Click Turn off.
5. Your droplet is has now been turned off or on depending on it's previous status.

Congratulations, you have successfully turned off or on your droplet through your DigitalOcean control panel.
