How to Turn on RAM Boost to Increase Performance on Android Phone (Best Method)
The "RAM Boost" or Virtual RAM feature on Android phones is a manufacturer-specific setting that uses a portion of your phone's internal storage (ROM) to act as temporary memory. Since it's a feature added by the phone manufacturer (like Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola, etc.), the name and exact location in the Settings app can vary.
The best method is to use the Settings search bar, as the physical location changes from one brand to another.
Universal Method (Best Method)
Open Settings: Tap the Settings app (S E T T I N G S icon) on your phone.
Use the Search Bar: Tap the search icon or the search bar at the top of the Settings screen.
Search for the Feature: Type one of the following terms into the search bar:
RAM
RAM Boost
Memory
Memory Extension
RAM Expansion
RAM Plus
Select the Result: Tap on the setting that matches the feature (e.g., "RAM Plus," "Memory extension," or "RAM Boost").
Enable and Configure:
You will usually find a toggle switch to turn the feature On.
If your phone supports it, you may be able to select the amount of storage you want to use as virtual RAM (e.g., 2GB, 4GB, 6GB).
Restart: Your phone will prompt you to Restart to apply the changes.
