How to Unlock your Phone with FACE ID on Motorola Phone (Lift to Unlock Setting)
1Motorola uses a feature called "Face Unlock" (or sometimes referred to as Face Recognition) to let you unlock your phone with your face. The "Lift to Unlock" functionality is a setting within the Face Unlock setup that determines how the screen wakes up to start the recognition process.
Here is the general process for setting up Face Unlock and enabling the "Lift to Unlock" feature on a Motorola phone:
Part 1: Set Up Face Unlock
You must first register your face before you can use the unlock feature.
Open Settings: Tap the Settings app on your phone.
Navigate to Security: Scroll down and tap on Security & privacy (or just Security on older models).
Go to Device Unlock: Tap on Device unlock (or on some older models, you may tap directly on Face Unlock).
Select Face Unlock: Tap on Face Unlock (or Face Recognition).
Confirm Your Lock: Enter your current PIN, pattern, or password to proceed.
Start Setup: Tap Set up and follow the on-screen instructions to register your face. You will likely be asked to position your face within a circular frame and move your head slightly.
Complete the Scan: Once the scan is complete, tap Next or Done.
Part 2: Enable "Lift to Unlock"
After registering your face, you will typically be presented with options for how the feature works, including the "Lift to Unlock" setting.
Access Face Unlock Options: You should be on the final screen of the Face Unlock setup, or you can go back to Settings → Security & privacy → Device unlock → Face Unlock.
Look for the Toggle: Look for an option labeled:
Lift to unlock
FaceWake
Raise to wake and unlock
Enable the Feature: Tap the toggle switch next to Lift to unlock (or its equivalent) to turn it on.
Note: You may also see an option like "Skip lock screen" here, which lets you go straight to the home screen after recognition, instead of staying on the lock screen.
Finalize: Tap Done or Next to save the settings.
