How to upgrade (update) the operating system of a stock Sony Ericsson Xperia Android smartphone

This video will show you how to upgrade (update) the operating system of a stock Sony Ericsson Xperia Android smartphone (especially beneficial for those who have free upgrades available to them from Sony Ericsson to update their Android operating systems from Android 2.3 GingerBread to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich).
In order to perform this upgrade, you will require the following:
Your Sony Ericsson Xperia smartphone
A micro SD card with sufficient space inserted (installed) in your device (if your device accepts micro SD cards)
A micro USB charge and data transfer cable
A PC or MAC computer with hardware and software install privileges
An active Internet connection for your PC or MAC computer.
