This video will show you how to perform a factory reset on the Motorola Droid XT860 Android smartphone without having a SIM card inserted in the device. If you have performed a factory data reset on the Motorola XT 860 without a SIM card present, upon automatic reboot of the phone you will have a lock screen for which you cannot unlock or bypass; which prevents you from accessing the initial setup of the Android operating system as well as any apps and even prevents access to the home screen of your Android OS. In fact, all you have access to is the time and the Emergency Call function, and other than that, you seem to be stuck here. To get past the lock screen, you can either power down the device, install a SIM card, and power back up the device to access the initial setup, OR, WITHOUT a SIM card, you can hold the ON/OFF SLEEP/WAKE button, elect to engage Sleep Mode, and once the XT-860 goes to sleep, once again hold the power button to wake the device. This will allow you to unlock the lock screen of the phone and perform the initial setup of the Android operating system..
