Shopping with your Amazon credit card is a great way to pile up points you can use toward other Amazon purchases. However, while those points are easy to earn, it can be a bit confusing to use them. In this video I'll show you how to make a purchase using your Amazon Rewards points on both the Amazon mobile app and the Amazon.com website.
First let's walk through the steps to use your Amazon Rewards points on the Amazon mobile app for iPhone, iPad and Android devices.
Step 1. Open the Amazon app on your iPhone, iPad or Android device, and then add any items you want to purchase with your Amazon Rewards points in your shopping cart.
Step 2. Tap the "Shopping Cart" icon. You'll land on the screen showing you a preview of everything in your Amazon cart.
Step 3. Tap "Proceed to Checkout." You'll be taken to the Place Your Order screen.
Step 4. Scroll down to the Payment Information section and then find Use Amazon Rewards Points within that section. Enter the amount of your Amazon Rewards points you want to use toward this purchase, and then tap "Apply." You'll see an applied message next to the field where you entered the points you want to use.
Step 5. Scroll back up to the top of this screen to the Order Summary section, where you'll now see your Amazon Rewards points deducted from your purchase as a line item, and also reflected in your order total. You can now tap "Place Your Order" to move forward with this purchase using your Amazon Rewards points.
Next let's walk through the steps to use your Amazon Rewards points on the Amazon.com website.
Step 1. Open your web browser, navigate to www.Amazon.com, and then add any items you want to purchase with your Amazon Rewards points in your shopping cart.
Step 2. Click the "Shopping Cart" icon. You'll land on the screen showing you a preview of everything in your Amazon cart.
Step 3. Click "Proceed to Checkout." You'll be taken to the Place Your Order screen.
Step 4. Navigate to the Payment Method section, find the line giving you an overview of how many Amazon Rewards points you have available to apply, and then click that line. A drop-down is displayed with a field where you can enter how many of your Amazon points you want to use toward this purchase.
Step 5. Enter the amount of your Amazon Rewards points you want to use toward this purchase, and then click "Apply." You'll see a points applied message next to the field where you entered the points you want to use.
Step 6. Navigate to the Order Summary section on the right side of the screen, where you'll now see your Amazon Rewards points deducted from your purchase as a line item, and also reflected in your order total. You can now click "Place Your Order" to move forward with this purchase using your Amazon Rewards points.
