How To : Import your Playstation 2 memcards/savegame to PCSX2
(Without moding your PS2)
This tutorial will guide you through the steps needed to bakcup and import your original PS2 savegames to PCSX2.
1/ Equipment and software needed :
An official Sony PS2 memorycard
A Playstation 3
Sony's official memcard Adaptor
An usb stick (FAT 32 formated)
Wine and playonlinux (to run the memcard/savegame import tools)
PSV Exporter ( http://www.ps2savetools.com/wpfb-file/psvexporter11-zip/ )
PS2 Save Builder ( http://www.ps2savetools.com/wpfb-file/ps2_save_builder_0-8x-zip/ )
Mymc-gui ( http://www.csclub.uwaterloo.ca:11068/mymc/ )
2/ TLDR :
- Insert your memcard in the memcard adaptor
- Plug the memcard adaptor in your PS3
- Copy your PS2 memcard content to an internal virtual PS3 memorycard
- Copy your savegame from the internal PS3 memcard to an USB stick
- Extract the savegame from your usb stick
- Convert the extracted savegame to a ps2 format savegame
- Import your savegame to a pcsx2 memcard file
