Events in this sequel to Final Fantasy X takes place two years after Sin's defeat. The player takes control of Yuna Rikku and Paine (YRP) now members of the Gullwings, a group of spherehunters.
The gameplay changed entirely:
- Characters gain level after a certain amount of XP
- Characters gains predetermined stats on each level up
- Return of the job system : the dressspheres and the garment grid
