This is the last final fantasy game to be released on the sony playstation 2 (in 2006/2007). This opus takes place in a medieval fantastic world.
As always, the gameplay as changed a lot :
- No random encounters : enemies are on the open world and the player can fight or avoid them.
- The gambit system : the player can program characters to perform commands under certain conditions (making the battle more fast-paced as everything is happening in real time)
- The licence board; a bit like Final Fantasy 10, a character must gain skill and earn the ability to use items by unlocking licenses.
