HP Portable Plus (Model 45711): Part 2
Another look at the internals before I put it back together and give it a test.
Looks like I'll need to source a replacement battery (LCR-22SP equivalent) from the US. The one in the HP is slightly customised but looks pretty easy to convert a replacement battery. In the meantime I'll try powering it from my bench supply ... 6VDC. And until I get a battery, no rush to create a 12VAC charger.
I'm not sure if the ROMs have been dumped so will do that first ... 192KB of system and 8KB of configuration. The configuration data is unique to my machine as it contains the serial number, for example. But easily patched I guess.
I also pulled apart the 128KB memory expansion drawer (82981) and discovered that it had two additional 82984 daughterboards ... giving 384KB in total. So my machine might actually have 512KB of RAM.
