ПК-01 Львов (PC-01 Lviv): Part 5 - It lives! Воно живе!
The "newest" machine (dated July 1991) seemed like my best bet to have a working machine - it does appear that some work had been done on it. Possibly the original, "valuable" capacitors had been scavenged and replaced with Western parts?
Quick summary: The PC-01 Lviv is a Soviet Ukrainian machine built around the КР580ВМ80А (KR580VM80A, the Soviet clone of the Intel 8080). There was also, briefly, the PC-02 Kyiv ... I have one sample that is under repair.
The Львов/Львив/Lviv outputs inverted RGB via D62 (a К555ЛЛ1/K555LL1, equivalent to a 74LS32 quad OR gate), so the previous owner has cleverly installed a К555ЛЕ1 (K555LE1, equivalent to a 74LS02) quad NOR gate on top of D62 - by tying the two inputs of each NOR gate together, this inverts the signal.
They also added +12V (via a resistor) to the 7-pin DIN socket - this is unnecessary for me so I'll probably remove it.
The keyboard is not in the best shape so the next step will be to swap the keyboard with my original (Apr 1991) machine.
After that will be trying to load some software via the 5-pin DIN magnetofone (i.e. cassette) port.
