This is a demonstration of "playing as" the World Warrior 'versions' of the bosses in the PS2 version of Hyper Street Fighter 2. Read on for more information...

This is a demonstration of selecting the bosses Balrog, Vega, Sagat and M.Bison in 'NORMAL' (World Warrior) mode. Unfortunately when you do this, it doesn't actually give you the WW bosses... instead it gives you another character in the fight. So WW Balrog gives you Blanka; WW Vega gives you Guile; WW Sagat gives you E.Honda; and WW Bison gives you Ryu.

If you look back at my list of videos, you may remember I did the same trick on the Arcade version of the game, which showed that WW bosses' portraits had messed up colour palettes. This time however, on the PlayStation 2 version, the WW bosses' portrait colours are correct! Also, they do not freeze the Continue screen unlike the Arcade version.

This video demonstrates the 'bosses'; their Continue screen operation; what happens when highlighting T.Hawk, Feilong, Deejay and Cammy in Normal mode; and as a bonus I've made CPU Akuma appear early.

It's surprising that these portraits are in the game at all... does it suggest that Capcom may have originally planned to include them in as non-playable bosses for nostalgic/traditional purposes?
